Today I’m going to share a money saving tip. Yesterday I began to make a pile of napkins. I for one, am tired of buying things that end up in the trash. So, around here we’re switching to cloth napkins and handkerchiefs. Fear not…we will be using toilet paper still :)
I have already stopped buying paper towels. It is amazing that there really is no need for them in our house. Kitchen towels and rags do a better job.
The thing about cloth napkins is that they seem so much more “fancy”. I love the idea of setting the table in these fun and bright prints. I really hope you try this and enjoy. Don’t forget that if you’re not a seamstress there’s always the thrift stores. I can’t wait to find some napkin rings there. I love things that coordinate but don’t match exactly. I’m thinking of all different kinds of silver rings…let the thrifting begin!
For now, I leave you with a picture of one complete and one unfinished, and several to-be-made napkins. These are made from 2 fat quarters of fabric.
